Now you can tag (like in del.icio.us) your books. You will notice a Tag Cloud in your Bookshelf like the one below, once you start tagging books. Basically Tags are just keywords you assign to books to help in organizing and classifying them. The more often you use a tag, the larger it appears.
Don’t have time to write reviews, just make simple tags like Loved it, Crappy, Fantabulous etc. instead.
Now there is a new way to browse, sort and modify your bookshelf. Click on ‘Browse Entire Bookshelf’ in Your Bookshelf. You can sort by Author, Title, Series, Rating and More, view upto 50 books per page with or without images.
You can customize your bookshelf addin into as many rows and columns as you wish! E.g. 3 rows and 4 colums here:
Now You Can Add random books from your Bookshelf to or website or blog or myspace or … even if there is no javascript support as below

The Internet Book Database announces Official Author Forums, where official forums for authors are managed and hosted for free!

The Bookshelf has been redesigned making it less confusing. It is now easier to add books and easier to search your bookshelf. I am currently internally testing tags (like in del.icio.us) for both books and authors and finding people with the same favorite authors.
I am also testing out ISBN search and entering books using barcode readers.

My webhosting account was temporarily disabled for excessive traffic causing too many connections to the database. However, things are now back to normal. Also many pages on the site should now be much faster thanks to new optimized queries. I’m hoping to make the site even faster by optimizing the database access on across the board.
