VA Festival of The Book

I was at two events at the Virginia Festal of the book this weekend. I had a nice chat with Barry Eisler on Saturday while we were both stuck in line to get the event whose panel he was on – ‘Sex, Lies, and Violence: Crime Wave’. He was just about to tell me how the name John Rain came about when the line ended and will contribute his next book ‘Requiem for an Assassin’ to the giveaway! Keep a watch out for that. Thanks to that I managed to get my two unsigned Rain Books signed – making my collection complete and signed :) . After this session I had a chance to chat with M. J. Rose and Robert Walker too. I got a second chance to meet Tess Gerritsen and hopefully should have some books from her for the giveaway.

Friday I had a chance to listen to Lee Child talk and heard how Jack Reacher came about – the funny part being the name Reacher – his wife commented that he could be a Reaher at a supermarket if his writing didn’t go anywhere. I also managed to get three of my Reacher books signed, met Tess Gerritsen, Laura Lippman and George Pelecanos. Hopefully they keep the card I gave them and associate that with the email I’m about to send.
